New project ‼️ I'm thrilled to announce that I teamed up with Maxime Bender (sax), Jerome Klein (keys) and Pol Belardi (bass) for newish band called KOLIBRI.

Throughout a completely improvised set, we combine electronic music styles such as house or drum‘n’bass with hip hop beats, jazz and funk. Although exclusively instrumental, we borrow the language and energy from EDM and make you dance like a DJ would.

Don't miss our next gig on 11th May at the Like a Jazz Machine festival in Dudelange. And if you happen to be in the South of France, we also play in Juan-les-Pins on 2nd August 😎

All good things come in threes ✨ The new Michel Meis 4tet album is finally out! „Lollipop Moment“ features three new compositions that are embedded in a freely improvised session as well as a more electronic sound 🍭

After working hard (and relaxing a bit) during the summer, we're resurfacing with some news. As you can see, our new website, designed and programmed with creativity, love and mastery by the 4tet’s very own Alisa Klein, is finally online.

Very soon, we will also release a new single with live video as well as play a few shows.

But mostly, we were (and still are) working on a ginormous, madness infused and pop-trash worshipping music video, that will be released in Winter. Meow.

I'm in the album release mode. The Gilles Grethen Quartet released its debut album also on 28 May on Double Moon Records, and it is a masterpiece!

The exploration of the classical tradition of the suite and its translation into the modern jazz idiom as well as the desire to thematically and tonally link his compositions inspired Gilles Grethen to propose a jazz suite consisting of six movements: the “Time Suite”.

I'm excited to announce that I joined the amazing art music project Venerem. With electric bass, drums, Fender Rhodes and the powerful, versatile voice of Laureen Stoulig-Thinnes at the centre, the band transforms old vocal music into new soundscapes, thus creating a new style of European art music.

Blankx, a free jazz/electronic duo with pianist Manuel Krass and different guests, was born in 2019 when we played at the epic Gudde Wëllen in Luxembourg. Thanks to Resarevoir Audiovisuäl and their streamed concerts series Quasi.Live, we could play this terrific gig during the pandemic. Enjoy! And stay safe!

… a year full of exciting and memorable moments, experiences and concerts. It’s been almost a year now that “Lost in Translation” was released and we wanna use this time of end-of-year reflections to take a moment and thank a few (a lot) of people that made 2019 a success.
